2 Weeks into 22 Minute Hard Corps...Stronger for Summer

So far I have completed 2 of 8 weeks in the 22 minute Hard Corps program,  so I wanted to share my thoughts and progress with the program so far.  The short workouts alternate each day between cardio and resistance training. and include moves like burpees, mountain climbers and Jimmie Jumps which are farmiliar from previously doing 21 Day Fix, InsanityMax30 and CIZE. Yet after 2 weeks, I have muscles and areas of my body that ache that have never hurt before.  I'm amazed that a 22 minute workout can cause such soreness, but it can!! Especially if you incorporate the 10 minute Core workouts every other day as recommended on the workout schedule provided with the program.  And no excuses...there are also modifications, so you can get started no matter what your fitness level. And if you are sore and need to modify certain moves you can do that too...just keep moving and push play each day! I purchased the deluxe kit as soon as it was released and less than 24 hours later I h

90 More Days....Let's Get Stronger for Summer

It was Easter Sunday 2 years ago... I remember feeling like I needed something. My youngest daughter had just turned 2. I had limited energy to chase her and play outside. My nails broke every time I buckled her into the car seat.   I was moody and just wanted my pre-baby body and "me" time back!   While I had a gym membership, I only saw the inside of the gym MAYBE once or twice a month.   During the week, I was too tired from working all day to workout at night.   On Saturday morning when the gym daycare was open, there was a Mommy and me dance class.   And there was no daycare on Saturday afternoon or Sunday at the gym.    So I walked and ran outside, but was unable to keep a consistent pace or routine.   I had no  clothes  to wear to work...EVERYTHING was tight and uncomfortable....except for the maternity shirts and pants.   My hair was dull and short and yet so hard to tackle each morning.   Fast forward 3 months and I was at the pool still unhappy.

How to Stay on Track and Overcome Cravings

My secret weapon tonight is Chocolate Shakeology pieces. It's SOOO easy!!  Heat a few tablespoons of Coconut Oil and then set aside to cool.  Once cool pour in a scoop or packet of Chocolate Shakeology.  Stir and add a teaspoon of PB2 if desired.  Pour into molds and freeze for at least 1 hour.  Store in refrigerator.  Enjoy when chocolate cravings occur!!

How I Plan, Prep and Store Healthy Meals for the Week

Before we starting meal planning, Matt and I would text each day around lunchtime and see how our day was going and ask what was for dinner. It was always stressful being in the middle of the day and having to come up with a meal with so many other things going through our minds. Deciding on meals daily caused us to have to go to the grocery several times during the week and often we just through up our arms and decided to go out to eat or bring home a pizza. However, with meal planning, we create a weekly menu (usually on Sunday night) and know what meals we will have for the week. We have the supplies needed for the meals on our grocery lists and typically shop at Sam's on Saturday morning and Kroger on Tuesday. We are stocked with healthy foods and I prep on the weekend so there is less stress about eating healthy. Planning what to what to eat and making simple preparations ahead of time allows us to eat healthy throughout the week and enjoy a home-cooked meal even on the
