Holiday Goal: Maintain don't gain

It's a week until Thanksgiving and I am determined to go into the holiday strong and on track with my health and fitness.  I read that the average person gains 5-7 pounds during the holidays and I'm determined NOT to be an average person!  I want to maintain the results I've worked so hard for and not be tired so I can make tons of memories with my family!!

The holidays are hectic but rather than flying through them without a thought, I'm taking a few minutes each day to think about what I will do with my time that day and how I'm achieving my goals for the week.

This week I have three lunch meetings so I'm planning in advance to determine what I need to eat before and after the meetings to resist eating the entire dessert and large portions.

I won't deprive myself from pumpkin pie or mashed potatoes but I will limit myself to a few bites rather than the whole piece or a large pile!

I will write out what I eat throughout the day in my planner and push play each morning to feel my best this holiday season.  Plus I'm determine to head to bed earlier than usual and get plenty of rest!

What are your goals for the holiday season?

Do you have a meal and workout plan for the next 4-6 weeks?

If you need help creating one, message me or send me an email at atabb01@gmail.com.

Birds of Paradise - Chicken Recipe

Growing up, we ate a lot chicken. Chicken and rice. Chicken and salsa. Chicken casserole. I wasn't sure why we ate so much chicken. I thought it was just because my mom was on a Weight Watchers diet.  She would put the chicken in the oven and then go on a walk.  I always wanted to tag along on my bike. Now I understand. Chicken is quick and easy. Chicken is inexpensive. Chicken can be healthy. Now as a mom I also understand, my mom wanted to on on those walks alone...to have some peace and quiet time!
