Girls Trip to Nashville Tennessee

There are so many things I enjoy about being a Beachbody coach including the events and opportunities to meet others!! I am a social butterfly (surprise) and REALLY enjoy attending and hosting events!! That's why I host girls' night at my house monthly and send invites to join me at the quarterly Super Saturday events!! Here are a few pictures of me from the last Super Saturday event in Georgetown Kentucky!! We had a great time working out with The Master's Hammer and Chisel, Chisel Cardio workout. Plus we samples several Shakeology recipes and watch as Gina demonstrated how to make the Chicken Salad recipe from the Fixate cookbook!! Angela and Gina are coaches I met online. They coordinate the majority of the Super Saturday event and do a wonderful job hosting a fabulous event!! Mark your calendar for the next Super Saturday on April 2, 2016! Several of my friends joined me for the Super Saturday event in January. Thanks for coming out Sherry, Jane, Jayme,

Love Yourself Inside Out Support & Accountability Group

In June of 2014, my emotions were out of sorts.  My youngest daughter had just turned 2.  The days of breastfeeding and even bottle feeding were gone, but she was still clingy and demanded my attention (well she still does).  My oldest daughter was 6 and still figuring out how to share her parents and also growing to be more independent.  I had a fabulous family, a warm home and a wonderful job, but I wasn’t completely happy.  Although my schedule was busy and our plate was full of activities, there was still something that wasn’t completely right.  I would get angry over small things and disgusted when things weren’t done “my” way.  I had a VERY short fuse and little control over my emotions.  I considered counseling but decided if I could find a way to relieve the stress and gain “me” time daily I might be able to adjust my emotions on my own.  I also talked with my husband and we discussed the issues and he set me straight several times even when I didn’t want to hear it.

What Happened to Valuable Reading Time??

Today I cleaned out my desk drawers at work and I found these leadership books. Over the last 10-15 years, I read them for Leadership Development courses and as I earned my MBA.  One of the BIG benefits of working at UK is they paid for my MBA....which I earned from Morehead State University completely online. The difference between my undergrad and graduate experience other than not being in a class room setting for lectures.....I read every textbook!! Maybe that's why I don't read as much anymore...or maybe it's because I have 2 girls, a husband and so many other things on my plate. I love reading and learning, but find I get consumed on the computer and with other activities...so having encouragement from UK and Beachbody to engage in personal/professional development helps me stay accountable to my continued learning goals!!! While I read these books for Leadership Development courses over the past several year, I have found I complete more books faster thr

Home Workouts brought my Pre-Baby Body & Confidence Back

After having my two girls, I struggled with getting to the gym as its daycare hours didn’t work around my schedule.  The best day for me was Saturday morning and thenI had to gather my iPad, earbuds, towel, diapers, wipes and two girls.  By the time we were buckled into the car, 30 minutes later, someone had to go to the bathroom.  Then once we got to the gym, I did an hour of cardio while watching Mad Men and walked around the equipment trying to recall sessions with a personal trainer years ago.  Then a week later, we did it all over again and during the week, I walked outside a few nights a week.  My eating habits were somewhat healthy, but I finished my daughter’s mac and cheese and nibbled on her pretzels and goldfish during snack time. As a result, I didn't lose weight, I was tired and I was somewhat depressed as I missed the time and luxury of going to the gym before they were born. Then a friend posted her results from 21 Day Fix and I asked her a few questions th

Eager to Pray - FUMC Andover

Sunday's sermon at the First United Methodist Church-Andover hit me in several different ways.  The words spoke not only related to me spiritally but also personally and physically. Here are my notes that I took from the sermon... We make so many decisions each day...some effect just ourselves and others effect others around us.   How do we know if our decision is the desire of God? The best way to know is through prayer which is an encounter with Christ...it's about listening. Listen to God throughout the day, no matter what you are doing...that's prayer. We know God is present, without seeing or actually hearing a voice. You just know his desire. We desire to follow his will, but do we actually do the actions? Seek God's desire through prayer and commit...BE ALL IN!! Too many times we look for what we want as the answer for God's desire rather than truly being ALL IN and waiting for God to speak his desire. Our mind must be renewed by scripture. L

Year End Resolution Results

My Year End Resolution for November and December was to maintain my goal weight throughout the holidays.  I lost 12 pounds and 2 clothing sizes in 2015...after losing 8 lbs and 2 clothing sizes in 2014.  I was determined to keep that weight off!!  I started with 21 Day Fix in late November and then Hammer and Chisel to end of the year.  Each morning, I sent a text to 3 friends (aka my 5am support group) and then I pushed play using Beachbody On Demand through my basement TV’s Roku.  Ok, the workouts weren't at 5am during the holiday break, but I typically got them in by 8am or 9am!! After my workout I drank Shakeology for breakfast with ice, water, a banana and a Boost of Power Energy and Power Greens.  Even during my holiday break from work, I continued my normal workout and shake routine because I feel good when I start my day with these. The one day I didn't start with a workout and shake I was off....I was in a bad mood and it just didn't feel right.  I finall

Week 5 Hammer & Chisel

Happy New Year!!  Cheers to a Healthy, Happy 2016!!  It's been a wonderful Christmas and New year, but now it's time to get back on track with my schedule, nutrition and fitness. Although I kept up with my workouts throughout December, I strayed slacked on my nutrition and had several more treats and cheats than I should have!! And since New Year's, I feel like I have been playing catch up and am ready to get more organized!! For me a routine works best and I like having my to-do list and agenda to follow...which is why the meal plan also makes me feel more in control of my nutrition and health!!  This is week 5 of Hammer and Chisel and I am ready to kick it into high gear!! I am committed 100% to making this week count in a BIG WAY! My motivation this month is not only my girls, but an adult vacation that begins in 4 weeks!!     I am loving Hammer and Chisel!!!  It's a challenge, but it's totally doable if you are looking to take your fit
