12 Ways to Spring Clean Your Lifestyle

Cleaning up your eating habits, exercise and home can be difficult but here are some tips to make it easier.

1. Set small goals: write down everything you want to work on and then pick the top 3 to start with.

2. Set a schedule and be realistic: determine how much time you have each day to work on your goal.  Be realistic and don't overwhelm yourself.  Starting with 10-20 minutes of exercise in the morning and 10-20 minutes of organizing at night is a great start!

3. Team up: Whether with a success partner or an accountability group, you are more likely to stick to your daily tasks and goals when you have someone to check in with.  It's best to find someone with similar goals that will be tackling daily tasks around the same time of day.

4. Change your thinking: Instead of determining goals purely based on weight lose and completion, focus on how you feel and your progress.  Start with tasks you dread the least and find a program with a trainer you enjoy.

5. Stay Hydrated: During your workout, when you are cleaning and every time in between, be sure to have plenty of water. You need to drink 1/2 your weight in ounces each day!!

6. Share Successes: Tell others what you are doing and provide progress updates, videos of your favorite moves and articles of inspiration.  Cheer others on and they will do the same for you.

7. Pump Up Your Playlist: Download new music to get you moving as you workout and organize.  Once you get started, the music will keep you going and help you relax as you complete less fun tasks.

8. Buy New Running Shoes: If it's been awhile since your last purchase, head to a specialty shoe store to be fitted.  The compare prices online to get the best deal.  Your back and body need the best support whether you are running, walking or moving in place.

9. Start with our pantry: out the tone of holiday popcorn and a box of from Valentine's Day.  Look through all the boxes and cans to throw out anything expired or low in  If you must keep some items for your family, place them in a space area that you know to avoid.

 10. Commit to Professional Develop: Pick a book or podcast to read or listen to daily.  Whether to improve your time management, self esteem or production, choose what you need to work on or that will help you stretch toward your goals.  Some of my favorites include: You are a Badass; Start with Why; Bounce Back and The Go-Giver.

11. Reward Yourself: Determine how you will reward yourself each day and when you reach milestones.  Be sure to follow through.  Don't indulge in sweet for completing a workout daily but do give your body rest and schedule a weekly reward meal.  Save a spa day or pamper yourself with extra me time to revive and reward yourself.  Rub pain cream on yourself or invest in BB Performance to help your muscles recover.

12. Get Outside: The weather is nicer so find some spring cleaning time indoors.  Dust off the porch, work in the garden or take the kids to the park.  Plus with BB On Demand you can stream workouts from your phone or iPad and with the new BOD app you don't even need WiFi.

Shakeology No Bake Cookies

Over the weekend, I made Shakeology No Bake Cookies (or balls). I prefer to make these as balls rather than flattening them as cookies.  I've made them with both Chocolate and Vanilla Shakeology and both are good.  Using the Vanilla Shakeology actually creates Peanut Butter Balls...you don't really notice the vanilla...it just mixes in.  My girls and husband prefer the Peanut Butter Balls, but when I am craving chocolate...this is a great option!  The girls love helping with this recipe and it's super easy! Ingredients:  1 cup Chocolate or Vanilla Shakeology 1 cup all-natural peanut butter 1 cup quick-cooking rolled oats 1/2 cup raw honey How to Make:  Combine ingredients into a medium bowl, mix well with rubber spatula or by hand. Roll mixture into balls about 1 inch in size. Put into container. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Enjoy cold. Home Workouts brought my Pre-Baby Body & Confidence Back

After having my two girls, I struggled with getting to the gym as its daycare hours didn’t work around my schedule.  The best day for me was Saturday morning and thenI had to gather my iPad, earbuds, towel, diapers, wipes and two girls.  By the time we were buckled into the car, 30 minutes later, someone had to go to the bathroom.  Then once we got to the gym, I did an hour of cardio while watching Mad Men and walked around the equipment trying to recall sessions with a personal trainer years ago.  Then a week later, we did it all over again and during the week, I walked outside a few nights a week.  My eating habits were somewhat healthy, but I finished my daughter’s mac and cheese and nibbled on her pretzels and goldfish during snack time. As a result, I didn't lose weight, I was tired and I was somewhat depressed as I missed the time and luxury of going to the gym before they were born. Then a friend posted her results from 21 Day Fix and I asked her a few questions th

Almond Joy candy vs. wonder whip

As Halloween approaches, candy options are more and more tempting.  Ok, maybe candy is tempting all year around!!  You want to think those little pieces of chocolate won't affect your weight goals, but they can.  Especially when it's hard to just eat one or two.  Personally, I would much rather have several bites of dessert than just one, so these wonder whip solutions are an amazing alternative to a few pieces of candy!! They are much more filling and satisfying!!  Whip up a bowl today and give your sweet tooth what it wants!!   Thanks to Ilana Muhlstein for sharing this recipe and her registered dietitian knowledge through the 2B Mindset Nutrition program and certified mentorship training!  B oth the Almond Joy candy and wonder whip have 235 calories, but you get a WHOLE cup with the whip rather than just two bites!!  Ingredients:  1 Cup 0-2% Plain Greek Yogurt 1 TBSP unsweetened Shredded Coconut 1 TBSP Cocoa Nibs 2 tsp. cocoa powder
